What to Expect During Your First Outpatient Physical Therapy Session at Rogers Physical Therapy
If you're about to embark on your first outpatient physical therapy session, you might be feeling a mix of anticipation or uncertainty. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or seeking to improve your overall physical function, understanding what to expect during your initial visit can help ease any nerves and set the stage for a successful therapy journey.

1. intake & Welcome
The goal of our intake process is to have as many questions and processes out of the way before you even step foot in to our building. With our top-of-the-line EMR and minimal interaction with insurance companies, you don't have to deal with their red tape and we can get straight to work. The goal here is to have NO SURPRISES.
2. history taking & goal setting
This is where it gets personal. We talk about your condition, your physical limitations, your lifestyle, and your goals. It's all about you and what it's gonna take to get you back to your normal. If you have a question or concern, you have the time to let it all out!
3. Comprehensive Assessment
Your DPT will conduct a thorough assessment of your current physical condition in order to determine a root cause. We use evidence-based techniques and test to locate your pain. Combining this with your history, we can then start to build a plan of care together! Other clinics might give you a cookie-cutter exercises they already had printed up before you got there, or pass you off to an unlicensed aide. Not here.
4. Initial Treatment Plan
With your goals in mind, your DPT will outline an initial treatment plan. This plan may include any of the following:
Corrective Exercises, Strength Training, or Performance Drills
Soft Tissue Mobilization, Joint Mobilization
Dry Needling
Education and advice on activity or equipment management
We'll work together to develop a program that will lead to your success.
Along with the 1-on-1 attention you get in therapy, you will also benefit from two features special for our patients:
Satisfaction guarantee
&
constant therapist access
When you leave after your first session, you'll have a plan, some homework, and the ability to send your DPT a message at any time through the patient portal. Any time you have a question or concern, just send us a message - no need to try to remember until your next appointment!
